2511 ACCESS SERVER

Hello Experts,

Can anyone tell me how can i make my 2511 roter as a access server?

i tried with following config but not working.

I gave the ip address to ethernet (172.16.1.2) and its pinging my Laptop ip
address.

i attach my octal cable also with no.1 cable in R1 and no.2 cable in
R2.........

ip host R1 2001 172.16.1.2
ip host R2 2002 172.16.1.2

line con 0
line 1 16
exec-timeout 0 0
no exec
transport input all
line vty 0 4
password cisco
login

i did that config but it is not working

pls tell me ehat i m doing wrong and what else i will have to do?
