Unable to Write-Memory in 4006 Cat OS

Main_4006> (enable) write memory
This command is available only in text configuration mode.
Main_4006> (enable)

Instead I have used

copy flash config

 set boot auto-config bootflash:current.cfg

 Does anyone have a clue why the switch doesn't allow me to do write-memory
?
