I have a not so interesting problem with a fairly common frame-relay config.
I'm working on LAB13 out of the CCIE practical studies book. (second or
third time I've done this one) Every no an again I run into a problem with a
specific dlci not coming up or going into active state.
Config is as follows: A single HUB router with two interfaces. The first is
multipoint and the second is point to point.
After the initial router configurations, I reboot the HUB and all spokes to
fix any arp issues. All interfaces are ping-able except the interface behind
dlci 120. HUB config is below-
(HUB Router config)
interface Serial0.1 multipoint
ip address 10.10.1.9 255.255.255.248
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
frame-relay map ip 10.10.1.10 110 broadcast
frame-relay map ip 10.10.1.11 120 broadcast
!
interface Serial0.2 point-to-point
ip address 192.168.1.5 255.255.255.252
no ip route-cache
no ip mroute-cache
frame-relay interface-dlci 130
After checking the configs, I am sure that all configs are correct, but dlci
remains inactive. dlci 120 is inactive on the adjacent switch as well. Have
I missed a curial gotcha?
(output of sh frame pvc for dlci 120)
DLCI = 120, DLCI USAGE = LOCAL, PVC STATUS = INACTIVE, INTERFACE = Serial0.1
input pkts 0 output pkts 3 in bytes 0
out bytes 141 dropped pkts 0 in FECN pkts 0
in BECN pkts 0 out FECN pkts 0 out BECN pkts 0
in DE pkts 0 out DE pkts 0
out bcast pkts 3 out bcast bytes 141
pvc create time 00:18:25, last time pvc status changed 00:15:20
(Output of sh frame pvc on the adjacent switch)
DLCI = 120, DLCI USAGE = SWITCHED, PVC STATUS = INACTIVE, INTERFACE =
Serial0
input pkts 13 output pkts 0 in bytes 643
out bytes 0 (WHY)--> dropped pkts 179 in FECN pkts 0
in BECN pkts 0 out FECN pkts 0 out BECN pkts 0
in DE pkts 0 out DE pkts 0
out bcast pkts 0 out bcast bytes 0
pvc create time 01:33:28, last time pvc status changed 00:51:44
Num Pkts Switched 4
Thanks in advance!!
