EIGRP REDISTRIBUTION!!

Got doubt regarding eigrp redsitribution
When we should give metric for eigrp during redistribution

i find when redistributing connected and redistributing eigrp other as ,it
is not mandatory to give metrics
Am i right??
pls correct me if i am wrong
