RE: IEWB R/S Vol IV (troubleshooting)

I think there should be some distinctions here. If you paid for the CCIE 2.0 program, then you should be entitled to all these workbooks and any applicable VoDs. I'm not sure what products were purchased. I bought "all 3 workbooks" for a cost that seemed reasonable at the time and signed up for the mock lab workshop. I know I wouldn't expect access to a 4th workbook at this point.

It's a completely different product that needs special attention to grow into something that will help future candidates. I am happy enough that there was a dramatic jump from volume 1 ver 4.1 to ver 5.0 that I would have nothing to complain about.

If a quality product is what you're looking for, then I would expect to pay extra for that. I don't seem to remember this same level of entitlement when the OEQs were announced.

At the risk of starting one of those OT flame threads that everyone loves,
this will probably be my last post here. The problem is obviously not the
money, it's the line being drawn. To me it's like saying that multiple
choice questions are supported because they've been doing that for years,
but open-ended questions require an upgrade and an extra $100. I don't
agree with it. It sounds like something that should be included because
the overall aim is to prepare for the lab, not parts of it. Again, that's
just my opinion. You don't have to agree with me.

Anyways, let's take the upcoming MPLS addition to v4.0. Think that should
be part of the investment protection?

I would say it should. It's an additional topic that fits under existing
products.

As a side note, take a look at the pricing on the troubleshooting. Based
on
the quality of the v5 stuff I wouldn't mind paying a little more. The
book
will probably be worth the price just to get another perspective from some
top people in the industry.

And if $150-200 is too much to continue and progress your ongoing
education
in the Cisco arena (for something you declare as required), you may want
to
look at other careers.

I can read. I think my assertion was that it shouldn't be considered a
new
product. I think that as the lab changes the updates that are necessary
to
train for the new portions of the lab should be included. They could have
easily included a troubleshooting section in lab book three for example,
but
again that's just my opinion.

it's not covered, vol IV its a new brand product.

i just feel like a dumb now

maybe nextime i need a lawyer to help me understand the promotion hype
before i buy, so i won't get fooled again
