The Vol4 represents an entirely new path and mechanism to present
information.
Vol 1, in particular (or when you do labs in Vols 2 & 3) also offer
troubleshooting tips/tasks as well, but the focus is different. Vol4 is
an entirely new thing.
If you have purchased the end-to-end product line within the last couple
months (talk to sales for specifics as I'm not one of them) it is free.
(I believe it's the "purchased after v4 was announced") If you
purchased previously, however, the expectation of all the nuts and bolts
included did not require full-blown troubleshooting.
Either way, it's a significant discount to current owners for
upgrading. At which point, all updates to it will be free.
However, if the CCIE lab changes 12 years from now to include methods on
how to split an atom and do nano-level routing, you can rest assured
that we will still be around to create a workbook for that, and it WILL
come at an additional cost.
