Etherchannel issue...

Hi Gurus,

Can someone help me to understand the problem bellow;

I created an EC between 3550 & 3750 (ports 23-24. Both pots were shut before
configuring). The 3550 was created as mode: desirable and the 3750 as mode:
ON. (I am hoping this is ok - so far)

On the 3750 I see the following error.

SW2(config-if-range)#do sh int gi1/0/23
GigabitEthernet1/0/23 is down, line protocol is down (err-disabled)

Whats causing this err-disable state?

The log looks like this

*Mar 1 08:12:37.200: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: channel-misconfig error detected on
Gi1/0/23, putting Gi1/0/23 in err-disable state
*Mar 1 08:12:37.200: %PM-4-ERR_DISABLE: channel-misconfig error detected on
Gi1/0/24, putting Gi1/0/24 in err-disable state.

The 3550 say both ports are down.

Whats the way around this? I tried a few things.... Change both ends to mode:
ON but same issue. Shut  no shut same issues. Can anyone help?
