Yes, most likely that will be a last resort solution. I do recall adapters
for that type of plug. Regular outlets, not ovens, dishwasher outlets etc,
are normally 15A. This shouldn't be a problem because anything over 15A will
blow the fuse anyway.

Just cut off the 20 amp plug and wire a standard 15 amp PC
type plug onto it.
