OK,
this is how it works:
STUB AREA: blocks external routes. Allows INTER and INTRA AREA routes.
Must be configured on all routers in the area.
The ABR automatically injects a default route type 0 E2
TOTALLY STUB AREA: blocks external and INTER AREA routes.
Allows INTRA AREA routes only.
no-summary must be configured on the ABR(s). All other
routers shoud have the "area x stub" cmd
The ABR automatically injects a default route type 0 IA
NSSA: like STUB, but allows external routes (type O N1/2) if injected
by an ASBR belonging to the area.
Must be configured on all routers in the area.
The ABR does *not* automatically inject a default
route.
NSSA NO SUMMARY: like TOTALLY STUB, but allows external routes
(type O N1/2) if injected by an ASBR belonging to the area.
"no summary" only required on ABRs.ll other
routers shoud have the "area x nssa" cmd
I believe ABR automatically inject a default router 0 IA
route type 0 E2
I believe what is wrong in jnkmail4eva set up (sorry I don't know your first name) is that he doesn't have a connection to area 0

Subject: Re: Intra area vs inter area
area 100 needs to be stub no-summary on both
routers..with your config the neighbors should not
come up..stub-no-summary is TSA and stub is regular
stub
TSA=1,2 (inTRA)
Stub=1,2,3,4(inTRA & inTER)
NSSA=1,2,3,4,7(inTRA & inTER and external from
attached ASBR only)
TNSSA=1,2,7 (inTRA and external from attached ASBR
only)
