Had the high-end Lexar, Sony's, multiple Cruzer's (Titanium, Mini, etc...)
Both were very durable until you drop them, a drop of water hits them, or a
young child was nearby :)
So after taping up a few casings and spending some time with the soldering
iron...
I found the (Corsair) Flash Voyager - and I love it.
1. It is less expensive than most (2GB ~$100. USD),
2. It has a rubber casing that is easy to grip
3. Between the rubber casing and cap it is also water resistant
4. 10-year warranty (by that time you'll have a 2TB flash drive instead?)
The 512MB's are ~ $40. and the 4GB's are ~ $180.

*I would get a minimum 1GB, that way you can be
sure you have enough room for future IOS images :)

I bought a 1gb SanDisk cruzer mini flash drive for $50 including shipping,
from Ebay. It's 2 inches long and about as thin as an ipod nano. works with
imb, works with mac, needs no installation software.....just awesome. a
coworker bought the same thing a year ago for $110. you also get 8gb flash
drives now but those babies are quite expensive.
