Way OT: What Flash Drives should I buy?

Hey guys,

 

I need to buy a flash drive - maybe I'll get 2 drives each having 512 mb
instead of one with 1 gig mb - I'm open to opinions on this.

 

But, I don't know squat about flash drives. (Don't laugh but I only learned
of these things about 2 months ago.)

 

In any case, my gut sense is that these things are pretty much commodities
and I don't need to be concerned about features, brand or compatibility and
therefore I'll be OK shopping around for the lowest price. So, I just
wanted to double check with the GS group on that.

 

Of course, if anyone has any buyer's advice for me, I'd like to hear it.

 

Any brand I should avoid?

 

Any features I should look for?

 

Any source (ebay) you would recommend or avoid?
