zuke,
it really depends on the "requirements of the task". you can set your cir
to be 256k if you want to and that does not mean anything will be dropped
(especially if there is no congestion) all that you have indicated is that
the ISP "might" drop traffic during times of congestion in excess of 56K.
if there is always congestion then yeah, it would be a good idea to set the
cir @ 56k, especially if you have sensitive traffice like voice or video,
but if not, who cares, as long is there is error checking within the
application. if there is only traffic a few times during the day and short
duration, then you would be cheating yourself out of bandwidth to set it @
56 .
i have a question tho---. would setting the cir @ 56k and allowing a
burst up to the AR give you the same throughput as setting the cir @256k w/
no burst ?

Hey Guys, I been searching high and low, for Frame-relay RATE LIMITING...
Suppose you have 256 Kbps as the maximum Throughput
Your TC Value is 125ms
During congestion the provideer will mark excess with 56 kbps with DE..
This one got me thinking ...
So my Access Rate would be 256, the Cir will be 56 ?
Please shed a lite on my darkness
Thanks
Zuke!
