Good morning:

I looked into updating a number of 2610 and 2612 (Ethernet and Token Ring).
Both worked.

The design for someone who has not used "tftpdnld" rommon you need a few
items:

Solarwinds TFTP Server, (FREE)
Cisco Enterprise Plus 12.2(T) image for OSPF v3
Start the router
go to rommon with the "control break" keys
At the rommon prompt type:

IP_ADDRESS:=192.168.1.208
IP_SUBNET_MASK= 255.255.255.0
DEFAULT_GATEWAY= 192.168.1.1
TFTP_SERVER=192.168.1.106
TFTP_FILE: c2600-js-mz.122-15.T16.bin

The 192.168.1.0/24 network just happens to be my home network so use want
every IP addresses you need to make your network talk. The Ethernet 0/0
port needs to be conected to the same subnet as your TFTP server.

Make sure that if you are running a Firewall that TFTP is allowed in.

Type the following after you have configured your router:

tftpdnld -r

The -r is the reload command. The router will then do one of two things
succeed, or as one of my routers did failed the check sum during the load.
No matter I was able to load the 12.2(T) Enterprise Plus image on 4 2610 and
2612 and am now working with the Cisco OSPF v3 information loacted at:

http://www.cisco.com/univercd/cc/td/doc/product/software/ios123/123cgcr/ipv6_c/sa_impv6.pdf

The labs that I am creating are:

- OSPF v3
- OSPF v3 over Frame Relay
- RIPng
- IPv6 Tunnels
- IPv6 restribution from RIPng to OSPF v3

Last tip for IPv6 don't get hung-up IPv6 addressing; make it simple:

- R1 Loopback0 11::1/64
- R1 Serial 0/0 12::1/64
- R2 Serial 0/0 12::2/64
- R2 Loopback0 22::2/64

Lat tip the CCIE Proctors read some of these e-Mails. So knowing that thier
is a workaround will only instill in them the desire for more IPv6.
