In building out a home lab, I managed to come accross a couple of Cisco Mobile Access Routers. The challenge I have is setting these up with a Cisco 500-CS terminal server. The MARC card on the MAR router uses a female DB9 connection as apposed to the RJ45 connection on most routers. The cable that comes with this router is a DB9 male connection to a DB9 female connection that plugs into a PC com port. I think this is a roll over cable but am not quite sure. This cable works fine in with this type of setup. However, I would like to convert the DB9 female port connecion on the MAR to an RJ45 connection that will let me take an RJ45 role over cable to the terminal server.
I tried using a DB9 gender bender that would let me connect a DB9 female connector to the MAR and take an RJ45 roll over cable to the terminal server. No such luck. I think their is a pinout issue here that I'm not quite sure how to figure out. Any help would be appreciated!
