Hi Scott,
So instead of "access-list 101 deny eigrp any any" can we use "access-list 101 deny ip any any" for dialer-watch for eigrp/isdn. What is the cisco recommended method. Ciscopress Lab 1 says if we don't use "deny ip any any" there is a reductiosn of points in the exam.

The fact that your route is down becomes "interesting" itself and your BRI
is brought up (providing you have the appropriate maps).
So if you are relying on dialer-watch, you do not need to have interesting
traffic.

In Karl Solie's Practical Studies book page 507 (chapter 7 under dialer
watch), he has used the below config;
access-list 101 deny eigrp any any
access-list 101 permit ip any any
dialer watch-list 1 ip 175.10.102.1 255.255.255.255 dialer watch-list 1 ip
175.10.1.0 255.255.255.0 dialer-list 1 protocol ip list 101
I use the same config with OSPF routing (1st line eigrp replaced with
ospf) and it worked.
Also when I used the below dialer-list command, then also it worked well.
dialer-list 1 protocol ip deny
Can some explain to me what is the difference? maybe I am missing something
in understanding the use of the "dialer-list" command with dialer watch.
