Just wanted to qualify my question. I have lab this scenario, and I know that
I can prefer routes from one neighbor over the other another. What I want to
know is if it possible prefer specific routes from on neighbor over the over.
In nutshell, I'm tying to prefer certain routes from a specific neighbor,
allowing all other routes to converge normally. I ask because protocols like
EIGRP have limitations on distance manipulations and I 'm wondering if ISIS
has similar problems.
I hope I'm clear....
Thanks

Subject: ISIS distance by nei
Group,
Is it possible to change admin distances of ISIS neighbor routes through
the use of the distance command and an access-list?
For example:
R1-------------R2 (139.7.45.2)
- -
- -
- -
R4--------------R5-----"net1"
Both R2 and R4 are advertising "net1" to R1.
R1 would have"distance 121 139.7.25.2 0.0.0.0 99" and an access-list that
would identify net1 under its routing process. I tried this and can't seem to
prefer routes to a specific neighbor. Is this even possible in ISIS?
