Distance Under Routing Protocol

Hey,Group. I have a router running two routing protocols and I want to make
one routing protocol preffered over the other for 1 route. Say RIP over
OSPF. Is it beter to decrease the distance (109) for the route under RIP or
increase the distance (121) under OSPF? Is there a difference? Is one
method better than the other? I don't believe there would be a difference,
but I'm not sure.
