Danny,

        I always recommend that you change the distance of the protocol
you want to prefer. This way, when you look in the IP routing table,
you can see that you changed the distance manually. If you raise the
distance of the lower protocol you won't be able to notice the change in
the routing table.

        In addition to this, you can change the distance on a per prefix
basis. This holds true for all protocols except external EIGRP.
