HI All,
I am trying to upgrade the IOS on some of my client's 7500 routers. The
client has purchased some Flash cards ( not from Cisco) 128 MB. I can see
and format the flash cards on the router.(These are ATA cards).
I have used and tested then in my LAB which are also running 7500 but with
RSP2 (R4600), with this platform I have no issues in reloading the router
with the IOS 12.3.1a but when I put the same card on the client routers
(RSP4+ (R5000)), I can see the card with sh disk1: and dir disk1:, however
when I try to reload the card with the command boot system
disk1:rsp-pv-mz.123-1a.bin,
It gives me the following error-
Proceed with reload? [confirm]y
System Bootstrap, Version 12.0(10r)S1, RELEASE SOFTWARE (fc1)
Copyright (c) 2000 by cisco Systems, Inc.
SLOT 7 RSP is system master
RSP4 platform with 262144 Kbytes of main memory
open: read error...requested 0x4 bytes, got 0xfffffff8
trouble reading device magic number
loadprog: error - on file open
boot: cannot load "disk1:rsp-pv-mz.123-1a.bin"
I also tried to make my RSP2 router a tftp and getting the IOS from there
but I stll get a read file error-
Sep 20 19:09:18.906 GMT: TFTP: unexpected read request
Sep 20 19:09:18.906 GMT: TFTP: Sending block 1 (retry 3), socket_id
0x430366A4
Sep 20 19:09:24.906 GMT: TFTP: unexpected read request
Sep 20 19:09:24.906 GMT: TFTP: Sending block 1 (retry 4), socket_id 0x430
Has anyone experienced this??I could not find any dependencies as bot RSP2
and RSP4 use the same file system.
Any suggestions or recommendations would be REALLY welcome.Would be a great
help to me, as I have already spent a lot of time trying to figure this out.
Thanks,
Mohit.
