I thought the written was valid for 3 years .... ( see below ) :-
Written Exam Expiry
Candidates must attempt the CCIE Lab exam within 18 months of passing the
CCIE Qualification exam. After the first lab attempt, candidates must
attempt the CCIE lab at least once every 12 months from the last lab attempt
in order for their qualification exam to remain valid. However, if a
candidate has not passed the CCIE Lab exam within three years of passing the
qualification exam, he or she must retake the CCIE qualification exam before
the candidate will be allowed to schedule the lab exam again.

Subject: CCIE written expiry ---Grace Period
Hello ,
I hate to post this here. There have many questions here about CCIE written
exam expiry timelines.
Nonetheless , this case sounds baffling to me.The validity of the CCIE
written is 18 months right ?
If thats the case my written exam's validity expires on Aug 19 .However the
system has allowed me
to take a Aug 23 date which seems a little bizzare to me.Is there any grace
period or something ?
I want to straighten this out because I want to pay the fees in a few days.
The key question is does it implicitly mean that I have to retake the
written exam yet again?
Please share your thoughts with me.
Cheers
Kris
