If you have OSPF, RIP and EIGRP running on the same router you can
redistribute OSPF into RIP. Now if you want EIGRP to see all the OSPF and
RIP routes you may think you can just redistribute RIP into EIGRP because
RIP already knows about the OSPF routes. However this will not work. You
will have to directly redistribute OSPF into EIGRP for those routes to
appear. The IOS is basically stopping routing loops and because of this you
do not need to define route filters when doing multiple redistributions on
the same router.
Your connected networks are just like the OSPF routes in the case above and
therefore you will need to do a redistribute connected within your EIGRP
process.
Hope this makes sense.

Subject: RIP 2 EIGRP RED
Hello People
r1----r2-----r3
R1 / 2 is running RIPV2. R2 / 3 is running EIGRP.
Routers only have the serials and loopback interfaces only. Very simple
network. On R2, when I try to red loopback as a connected interface, it
never
appears on EIGRP network. It appears on the RIP side with no problems. The
red
commands are simple:
access-list 1 permit 148.10.11.1 0.0.0.255
route-map loopback2rip permit 10
match ip add 1
router rip
red conn loopback2rip
---------------------------------
router eigrp 21
red rip metric 10000 100 255 1 1500
As you can see, its a basic setup and my fundamental knowledge has again let
me down....(don't worry I am thinking of creative ways of ending the
never-ending story).
I'd appreciate it if you could help me out, its most likely a command I am
missing or something as when the loop is put directly under RIP is jumps
into
EIGRP instantly.
See u when u Get there
