ISDN requirements

What requirements will make you prefer OSPF on demand over the other ISDN
features like DDR, backup interface. I know that using on demand keeps ISDN
quiet with adjacencies remaining intact but then even if we use a backup
interface command the adjacencies will form once the link goes up ... right
?

If someone could recommed a general strategy for tackling ISDN then it would
be really nice.
