Nexus is purpose built for data center. Features such as vpc, vdc, fiber
channel, fcoe, ACI, vxlan, fabric path, many different fex options, otv can
steer you to the nexus line.

In 2009 it was harder to differentiate the two lines. Now the nexus line in
my view has a clear distinction to be in the data center. Sure both lines
switch but if you are only using basic switching features you may not care.
