Likewise, I've scheduled for one a single month out and just paid for it at
the time of registration. I don't think a single week out would be any
different.

As I said; yes, you can. I did the same in RTP in August; scheduling in
July. I was trying to let you know the downside of doing it though. might
not mean anything - it didn't to me.
