Are you saying that auto negotiation kicks in again because of link
degradation, ala DSL ? I was not aware of that at all.
Also, your example uses 1gig, I was not aware you can have gig links
in fixed setup, is that the case ?

But I am aware of some duplex missmatch caused for 100Mb auto
