Re: Rental Rack ??

Just picked up some 2621XMs and some 1841s. Dropped about $1300, but
my lab can do all 3 vendor workbooks that I have. I shopped around
but one vendor would cost me $1,500/month and that was for 5.5hr
blocks weekdays and 12 hour blocks on Saturday and Sunday. The other
vendor was under $500 unlimited for the entire month. The second
vendor was more competitive, although nothing beats having your own
gear. Also the $1,300 I spent, I'll be able to turn around and sell
for $1,000. I built off of INE's topology and it will work for
Narbik's too. IPE requires like 11 routers or something crazy and I
haven't gone down that road yet. http://www.ine.com/topology.htm

I had 4 switches from a friend, WIC-1T from old jobs, friends and Ebay
so it made it a little easier. Have some spare 26 (nonXM) for
backbone, just require some DRAM/Flash love.

Drop a line to brandon_at_networkhardwaredepot.com, they have some
amazing prices and shipped ground to me in Wisconsin for free! Tell
him JB sent ya. I basically planned to spend a solid 3 months or more
and with that time frame, rack rentals seemed to be about the same
cost if not more than buying the actual gear. Plus I could keep the
gear, sell it later, etc. I have something to show for it at the end
of 3 months (a rack of gear and my new digits)!

Hope this helps,
JB
