OK. well I am studying R & S track. but just speaking from experience an
Ethernet LAN switch does not understand the phone signaling and audio
handed off by a Telco The FXO/FXS cards are what transcode the signal for
voice over IP. If you see a phone attached to a 3750 LAN switch that only
knows IP, I would be hard pressed to believe that it could support a POTS
line or analogue phone. But I am no expert so I yield to another on this
topic.
