If they had the CCIE they would be out making money and not wasting time interviewing people... until they pass they are not competent themselves to judge anyone.

I "hope" to climb K2 in 8 hours without oxygen. Hope and bus ticket will get you on the greyhound. Earn it. Stop wasting time here stirring up useless discussions with people that have already passed.
Just my advise...

My last two cents on this... I really like using the post for relavancy to
the test and not if the certification itself is relavant. The last interview
I was at (thankfully got the job), they weren't concerned about hiring my
certification but instead about hiring a competant professional. I am
thankful like many on this post that my phone/email/social networks are
constantly pinging me about oppertunities. This comes with only having what
was previously explained as a 'watered down' CCNP. The reality is that the
CCNP was enough to get me in front of an interviewer, I had to close the
deal.
I have the utmost respect for CCIEs and all contributors to this post, it
has helped move me from the ordinary to extrodinary. I hope to have my
digits soon as a reflection of my hard work. That said I look forward to
seeing some more great posts that follow the 4.0 lab blue print.
