Not sure how you resolved, but my standard way of deleting VLAN's and
reverting VTP back to Null is to toggle the VTP mode to server, remove
vlan.dat and then reload

 connfig t

 vtp mode server

 do wr

exit

delete /force /recu vlan.dat

write erase

erase startup-config
