Hi Malik,
The NHS feature makes the router announce itself as the next-hop for the
prefix being announced.
For example, when a prefix learned via eBGP is announced into your network
using iBGP, you may want to put your router as next-hop for that prefix.
Otherwise, all your network should know how to get to the eBGP peer, because
the next-hop for that prefix is the eBGP peer:
eBGP peer --- Border Router --- Internal Router
As Carlos said, sometimes it's necessary to configure NHS, and sometimes it
depends on your design. If you dont want to announce into your network the
link between the eBGP peer and your border router, you must use NHS in iBGP.
So the next-hop for the prefixes will be your border router.
