Everybody,
This may seem like a basic question but I am struggling with making sense
out of it, so don't beat up on me too much. I working on a lab that states
the following:
Traffic Policer
CIR 512K
EIR/PIR 384K
TC 30ms
Implement traffic policing on router's inbound connection using dual rate
policer with exceed and violate actions. Now I understand the dual rate
policer, but I am struggling with calculating the bc/be values.
police-map DROP_P2P
class class-default
police cir 512000 bc 1920 pir 896000 be 3360 conform-action <x>
exced-action<y> violate-action drop
I read somewhere that the bc values are calculated as such
bc= (CIR*TC) + (MTU*8kpbs)
I'm not sure how they arrived at that value. Can anyone shed any light?
Thanks
