You can run a private AS. No need for public AS as it's an MPLS type scenario. If you were peering publically then your own AS would be needed (although not always).
I doubt the ISP' would let you run an iBGP type setup so eBGP it is. You could run the same AS but then you might need to use allow-as in on the CPE or the ISP could use as-override (also dependent on the actual setup ie 1 CPE or 2 CPE's etc)
