John,

No worries. Just 2 quick points;

1- This followed another post which I believe had sent out on the 10th.
Probably you already know that very well but it was a quick summary on RP
selection.

2- Please turn on the debug command and track down all MDT transaction.

3- Very specifically please focus on the tunnel interface and its GRE
process.

4- If you're running for the SP track OR looking to implement Mcast in a SP
network OR work for a SP, do implement various flavors of mcast in both
customer and SP network. You can even design a table like this:

A- Cu: Static - SP: Static - Results? debug?
B- Cu: BSR - SP : SSM - Results? debug?
C- Cu:SSM - SP: Auto-RP - Results? debug?
And many other possible states

7- SSM is pretty cool but some SP's had to roll back to ASM for some mostly
political reasons. But still SSM in core is very important.

6- Last but not least; Cisco's changed the way they handle inter-as AS VPN.
Before getting into this, make sure you're using the "right" version of IOS.
