I think the idea came from CISSP. The same amount. Perhaps, they will also
require certain amount of points to support it later, for example -
attending subject related conferences, reading books, magazines, etc. CISSP
goes even further. You could also babysit candidates taking the test to
achieve points, and minimum is 40 per year to keep your status active. Also,
85$ a year is a must.

It makes some sense. I just don't understand this requirement:

They still have to pay ??? Unbelievable.
