Use the following section of the DOC-CD to ensure you understand the differences between NTP SERVER, NTP MASTER, NTP PEER. You can also turn to resources like our CCIE Written Bootcamp to learn this, but notice the DOC-CD has a really nice price tag. :-)

Once you have those completely mastered, turn to this free resource to see how the authentication works:
