Being in your shoes, I wouldn't really know where to start either. I think if I were going for storage, I would talk with Roman at IEMentor.
I could be completely wrong about this part, but I think the CCIE Storage might be going away in favor of a CCIE Datacenter track. Or at least storage will be considered part of that track. There is a big push in DC right now and it seems this track is most closely aligned.
