kaniyath,
Look at the SRND for QoS version 3.3 on Cisco's site. It's kind of large
but it gives you an idea of a framework on which the command might be based.
Some important concepts to understand are:
1. Trust
2. CoS vs. DSCP - think Layer 2 versus Layer 3 for example.
3. Re-Write of marking.
4. What happens when "marked" packets traverse a switch to or from a router,
an IP Phone, or just another switch.
5. Maps - as in CoS-to-DSCP,or Mutation Maps (where we take values from
switch and basically line them up for the next switch).
6. Yes, we have priority in these switches as well and we have "bandwidth or
percent" options as well.
7. SRR and WRR Queueing comes to mind.
8. There are a few other considerations - but these come to mind immediately
when I think of Catalyst Switching considerations.
Just some ideas. Once you get an idea of what they are, then ask yourself
how they affect traffice traversing the switch, and then ask yourself how
you might verify that they are doing whatever it is you are required to
perform.
