I don't think I'd advise this as "one of those commands".
Sorry. Maybe my understanding of mls qos is not what it should be.
However, if turned on globally and no ports are configured with regard to
qos...
What happens?
Now if the values such as dscp or cos are rewritten to zero or just zero'd
out - is this desirable?
Again, not a command I'd use unless I know why I'm using it and where I
intend to affect other ports (trunks, etherchannels, access ports, etc).
If anyone needs a good reference for this command and its usage allow me to
suggest the SRND on QoS version 3.3.
If anyone has been to Global Knowledge's course call Advanced QoS, I think
it also does a good job of explaining the SRND listed above in an entire
End-to-End Framework.
Hey try it yourself and see what happens for yourself. If you want to
effectively make null the values from attached devices.. then enable mls
qos and forget to trust things like ports attached to your IP Phones.
However, don't "call" about the quality issues that might arise from this
adventure.
