The technologies are pretty much the same, so having your CCIE gives you
a good head start. However the command link is entirely different on
JUNOS. Some of the "thinking" behind things is different as well
(particularly with security-related things).

Is it better for one vendor? Depends on what you are or are not
doing? In consulting, it never hurts to have more varied experiences!

Training? Not as much is currently available. The different JNAECs
will offer the "typical" Juniper classes and they'll all help you on
your way to looking into the JNCIE-ER, but it isn't a bootcamp.

Get yourself access to equipment first. Start playing around with
them. Get the books (O'Reilly publishing for the ER series, written by
Harry Reynolds and Doug Marschke, both of whom are great guys, and very
knowledgable!) and get some routers.

Good luck!
