MEC/vPC is for cross-chassis load balancing.
You would use the combination when you have a "BOX" interconnect.
In simplest form MEC/vPC is a triangle - a virtual couple on one side, and
another device on the other, hence they are independent and therefore
completely compatible.
So yes, you can do MEC on one side and VPC on the other, but it will depend
on your physical interconnect (it has to make sense)
