MSDP CLARIFICATION

hi guys,

I am sure i am missing a part of the puzzle here.

Is it a requirement(a must) to have PIM eenabled on the inter-AS links
(physically connecting the two ASs) for MSDP to work.

If no then what are the way around that ?
I still cannot find any document/link that explicitly states that but all
configuratin examples have PIM enabled on the inter-as links.
