Hi Atlanta,

http://www.cisco.com/en/US/products/hw/modules/ps2617/products_configuration_
example09186a008052c920.shtml#Components

According to that link, the new generation voice cards only supported in the
following router series: Cisco 2600XM, Cisco 2691, Cisco 2800 series, Cisco
3662 (telco models), Cisco 3700 series, and Cisco 3800 series.

So if you have C3640, for sure you cannot reuse them for your voice lab with
the 2nd generation voice card.

You could use the first generation voice card instead, (i.e. the one without
the number 2 after VWIC), e.g. VWIC-1MFT-T1, VWIC-1MFT-E1, VWIC-2MFT-T1,
VWIC-2MFT-E1, but there might potentially be many voice features that are not
supported on the C3640 platform, and cannot be practiced.

I'd like to know real-life experiences from those who have been using this
router model for voice lab practice, please.

Cheers,

Huan

I don't see a reason why you cant? I am waiting on an answer on this too
because i have a full blown R&S lab that i would hate to part with after I
pass R&S
