Hi Ron,

Yes, it's the case that the classes are evaluated sequentially from top
down. Do you have the QoS Exam Cert Guide? In the second edition, you can
have a look at page 151, where the last full para states "...IOS applies the
policy map classes in the order that they appear in the 'policy-map'
command." If you don't have that book (you should), do you have the 3rd
edition of the R&S Exam Cert Guide? There, on page 423, you can have a look
at the "Key Topic," where a case of a mis-ordered policy-map is discussed
(the more specific case of NetMeet is entered following a generic match for
voice and thus the NetMeet class is theoretically never hit (in spite of the
example 'sh policy-map' text suggesting otherwise)).

Regards,

Scott

Subject: MQC - Read in Top Down manner?

Hi Experts,

 Does MQC read from topdown?

Example:

policy-map PM
 class CLASS2
  set ip precedence 1
 class CLASS1
  set ip precedence 2

MQC will try to match CLASS2 then CLASS1?

My gut feeling is yes but I can't find proof with Cisco documentation for
it.

Thanks!

Regards,
Ron
