Hi All,
I just wanted to brag a little bit and tell you that I passed CCIE R&S
Lab last Friday in Brussels. Unfortunately, I had to wait till Monday
morning for results; hence it was terrible weekend for me.
This was my first time and I had CCIE Security already. The exam gone
smooth and I finish all tasks in 6 hours, so spend 2 hours on
verification.
The exam itself looks pretty simple for someone who knows technology
well and has really good troubleshooting skills.
I was on Narbik's bootcamp in Dubai in April when I realized how long
journey I need to travel. Then used training materials from the
bootcamp to study for almost 2 months.
Vacation time I spend on nothing and went back to study on October
(nights and weekends). The last 4 weeks I spend 12 hours on studying
mock labs and this was a key.
The training materials I used:
- Narbik's Advanced Technology Labs (5 Volumes)
- Narbik's Mock Labs
- CCBOOTCAMP Written Guide (for my Written exam)
- NMC Technical Library
- DocCD
- IE Blog
My advice for all CCIE candidates is: know technology inside out and
focus on Core Technologies (IGP, SW and BGP), rest of the tasks you
can do finding a solution on DocCD if required. Know redistribution,
route filtering, summarization and you will pass it. I'm not saying
you shouldn't know the rest of the topics, but those core technologies
you need to know best. Another tip is to ask proctor whenever you have
any doubt; this can help you to understand a question properly.
Thanks Bruno (proctor at Brussels lab) for all your patience and
clarifications.
Also, I recommend a bootcamp, which helped me a lot in understanding
and completing my knowledge. As I said, I was on Narbik's bootcamp, so
I can only tell you how I feel about that one. Narbik, in my opinion,
is one of those instructors who were born to teach. He knows every
command by heart, can describe things the way they are easy to
understand and seem less complicated. I like his style, and he is very
honest to everyone. I never met such person.
