RE: CCIE True Interview Story

A couple of years ago I was in the field trying to troubleshoot a problem
with a mobile systems. The router involved was a Cisco MAR but the switches
were just some unconfigurable junk that had been built into a custom
chassis. I needed to capture some traffic for analysis but SPAN was
obviously not an option, so I went to the local Best Buy and asked if they
had any Ethernet hubs. Naturally, the young lad took me straight to the
Linksys switches (hubs having went out of favor before he was out of
diapers). We did eventually find one lone hub on the shelf. I still have
it.

Hubs.. :)

I haven't seen a hub in a long time personally. As for lab time, Im still at

it and more on than off these days. The free time you have available to
study is a factor in elapsed time to get through the track. Then again,
what's the rush? I have been busy enough at work and at home and the studies

are an enjoyable distraction.
