My take on this is simple. Too many people are taking liberties on the whole
CCIE Written or Written CCIE thing. I can't even tell you how many recruiters
I've had to show the difference between someone who actually has a CCIE and
someone who just past the qualifying exam and that what a lot of these
candidates are doing is wrong because they put me on the same level as the next
guy who only passed his written and really, that pisses me off. They should be
made and example off and be disqualified from taking the Lab if anything but
CCIE written exam passed (lab scheduled on <date>.

There is no prerequisite for the CCIE Written exam that qualifies you to take
the CCIE lab so really the accomplishment is relative because I personally
didn't do the CCNP or any of that, I went right to the CCIE.

Was I happy that I passed the CCIE written? Yeah, absolutely because I was
allowed to take the exam. Do I consider that an accomplishment? No not really
until I passed my lab, then I felt accomplished.
