For me the CCIE is the ticket to bigger and greater things, and I don't mean
money. It allowed me the freedom to experiment more and gave me a voice on
many different panels and other things that allowed me to interject my ideas
and thoughts. When I got the number I knew that it didn't stop there,
certainly more to accomplish. These days I'm more of a manager than an
engineer, I don't get to play with the equipment near as much as I would
like. About the only "playing" I get these days is in my home lab studying
(occasionally) for my SP IE. That said, I have managed to take some classes
on the CRS-1 and other SP type classes which is going to really help me in a
few years. In short, the IE was just the ticket for more studying. I can
stomach the thought of having 2 IE's but having more is certainly beyond
what I have the time and energy to accomplish and I think at this point it
would not be worth the investment in time/money to do so but that's just me.

Josh
