Help on OSPF DR/BDR in non-broadcast network type

Hi Experts,

Can someone please explain why we need DR/BDR election in the non-broadcast
network type? If it's non-broadcast type the OSPF hellos aren't sent as
often as the broadcast type. So the DR role is reduced compared to the
DR's in the broadcast network.
