Wow... I see that there are two camps
1. PRO alias
2. ANTI alias
Well, in any case, i do not agree with the second group.
My arguments are:
1. "show ip interface brief | exclude una" is just waay too long of a
command. Believe it or not, i'd say aliases save me about half an hour. It's
one thing to type "intelligent" command, like Offset list. And it's quite
completely the other to use stupid mindless commands like "show ip interface
brief | exclude una". And it save me A LOT of my nerves, because 2 typos in
the row make you nervous. You do risk that you will forget to remove the
alias, BUT if you fail without them, then there is nothing to loose. And you
can always pay 100 dollars to have it graded manually.
2. I DO use them in real world, and that's the only reason I will be using
them in the lab. Especially
"show ip interface brief | include Vlan" = shiv
and
"show interface status" = shit
This saved me countless hours of time in total.
