Sorry to hear about that. I hope I can be as ready to get back into things
as you should the unfortunate occur. Anyways, it sounds like you need a
little more hands-on practice - but, who I am to talk, considering I haven't
passed yet! You can pick up a complete RS rack for around 4,000 or
thereabouts, or just use dynamips and occasional rack rentals. I personally
use dynamips - but I'd recommend a quad core box with well-researched idlepc
value to do it as painlessly as possible. While you DEFINITELY can't
successfully practice many layer 2 topics on dynamips - that's what rack
rentals are for. The CCIE assessor labs are definitely also a great
resource. If you are going to use dynamips, you'd probably need to buy
InternetworkExpert's dynamips lab workbook. It is very reasonably priced
and an excellent resource.
